Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue of the immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin, developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Selank (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue of the endogenous immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The addition of the Pro-Gly-Pro sequence significantly increases metabolic stability compared to native tuftsin while enhancing CNS penetration.
Laboratory research has demonstrated Selank's anxiolytic effects via modulation of GABA-A receptor activity and serotonergic neurotransmission, BDNF upregulation comparable to standard antidepressants in animal models, and immunomodulatory effects including regulation of interleukin expression and T-cell activity. It is registered as a drug in Russia for anxiety disorders and neurasthenia.

Selank is supplied as a lyophilised powder and must be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before use in research applications. Selank may also be prepared for intranasal research delivery — BAC Water is the recommended vehicle for both routes.
Allow vial to reach room temperature. Clean the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab and allow to dry completely.
Draw required volume of BAC water into a sterile syringe. Inject slowly down the inside of the vial wall — not directly onto the powder.
Gently swirl until powder fully dissolves. Do not shake. Solution should be clear and colourless. Selank dissolves readily in BAC water.
