Alpha-MSH C-Terminal Tripeptide — Lys-Pro-Val — 10mg

KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH), consisting of the amino acids Lysine-Proline-Valine. Studied extensively for its anti-inflammatory properties via NF-κB inhibition, gut permeability modulation and melanocortin receptor-independent anti-inflammatory activity. Independently verified at 98.015% purity by Janoshik Analytical.

About KPV

KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is the C-terminal tripeptide fragment of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It retains the anti-inflammatory biological activity of the parent molecule while being significantly smaller — making it a valuable research tool for studying melanocortin-independent anti-inflammatory pathways.

Laboratory research has demonstrated KPV's ability to inhibit NF-κB activation, reduce pro-inflammatory cytokine production and modulate gut permeability. Studies have examined its effects in models of inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal inflammation and systemic inflammatory conditions.

All Pureline Biolabs KPV is supplied as a lyophilised powder in sealed vials, independently tested by Janoshik Analytical at 98.015% purity. Certificates available on our Lab Reports page.

Research Background

KPV has been studied extensively in inflammation, gut biology and immunomodulation research. This product is supplied for laboratory research purposes only.

Studies have demonstrated KPV's ability to inhibit NF-κB activation in inflammatory cell models, examining the downstream reduction in pro-inflammatory cytokine production including TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6.

Laboratory models have investigated KPV's effects on intestinal epithelial barrier function, measuring tight junction protein expression and transepithelial electrical resistance in models of gut permeability disruption.

Studies have examined KPV's anti-inflammatory effects in rodent models of inflammatory bowel disease, measuring histological inflammation scores, cytokine profiles and mucosal healing versus control groups.

Research has characterised KPV's effects on macrophage cytokine secretion, examining dose-dependent inhibition of LPS-stimulated TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-12 production in cell culture models.

Studies have investigated KPV's anti-inflammatory activity in cells lacking melanocortin receptors, confirming that its NF-κB inhibitory activity is at least partially independent of MC receptor engagement.

Laboratory research has examined KPV's anti-inflammatory effects in skin models, investigating its potential role in modulating inflammatory skin conditions at the cellular and cytokine level.

Reconstitution Guide

KPV is supplied as a lyophilised powder and must be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before use in research applications. KPV is a small tripeptide and dissolves very readily.

Allow vial to reach room temperature. Clean the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab and allow to dry completely.

Draw required volume of BAC water into a sterile syringe. Inject slowly down the inside of the vial wall — not directly onto the powder.

Gently swirl until powder fully dissolves. KPV dissolves almost instantly due to its small size. Solution should be clear and colourless.
